Love's only in your mind and not your heart

So how is everyone's summer going? I have all these things I want to post and cover on my blog, but I never really get to do it. But I'm sure I'll get to it when I'm really ready and in the mood. So I hope you enjoyed my coverage of Hot Hot Heat in LA from the past month. I know I've been kind of m.i.a before that. I've just been really busy meeting friends, catching up, shopping, movies. Also, I learned how to play Band of Horses' "No One's Gonna Love You" and Weezer's "Across the Sea" on acoustic guitar. You know, easy chords. But I learned them now and I love playing it and singing. I haven't written any new original songs. Learning more "covers" lately. Oh, and I have to take this opportunity to tell you I'm absolutely loving MGMT's new album!! I first heard "Time to Pretend" and instantly liked them. But when "Kids" got all that crazy mainstream play and MGMT started to involuntarily become a mainstream band, I got worried and even got sick of hearing that song everywhere. It IS a great song and actually it was a hit summer song. It reminds me of laying by the pool couple summers ago. Anyways, I'm sure the band themselves were stressing about their next album. Actually, I was worried how their next album would be. What direction would they go? But one day, I was listening to internet radio and they played "Flash Delirium" I was in love! Their new album is everything I love and everything that the mainstream would never get. That's what I love about it. I'm so happy that they went this direction. Personally, I love the whole retro sound having grown up listening to lots of 60s music. So this was right up my alley. I got the album and I am so excited about it. Please check it out! My favorites are "Congratulations", "Flash Delirium", "It's Working", and "Brian Eno". Good job, guys. Good job. Besides that, I've been discovering so much great music. I hope to do a summer mix "five songs show" soon. There's always so much to do. Expect more new posts this week, good pictures coming...

  1. I like MGMT - Siberian Breaks, it's a bunch of songs combined, with my favorite part leading up to and being between 6:07 and 8:20.

  2. You're probably aware that MGMT is playing the Greek this Friday, the 16th. I wanted to go but can't!
