We accept you, one of us

Is there anything in this world that is cooler than the Ramones? Yes, I love them. And I watch Rock and Roll High School almost every weekend.

You won't know me 'til you need me

What a week it's been! Not only are we super busy at work now, but I went out three times this week! And I made it through! It's really hard to go out especially when you're working full time in such a crazy industry, but you just gotta take care of yourself. Monday: The Feeling and Rooney at the Roxy. Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling had great charisma and energy. Not to mention, he was wearing electric blue dress shoes with red socks. Brownie points please. Then on Wednesday AND Thursday, we went to see JET (one of my fav bands ever) at the Troubadour! If you can tell by now, I'm a small venue fan. JET puts on amazing live shows. They're one of those "you-just-don't-know-til-you've-seen-them-live" bands. I first saw them at the HOB in 2004. I've seen them a total of six times now. Troubadour shows were unbelievable. Nic is great. I love JET.... *sigh*

Je veux te voir

Way back in the days when I was in college, we took a class trip to the American Apparel headquarters. Now, this was before American Apparel took over the world. When I went, they were doing mostly licensed products. And now, they're everywhere. I think it's really cool what they stand for. Sweatshop-free clothing. Anyways, don't you love this girl? She's so fierce! This one's dedicated to none other than AA, their thigh-high socks, sexy shorts, basic jerseys, and their terry headband.

Oh, and about the title. I like that song by Yelle. I first heard about her a while ago on Fred Flare. I like dance-able songs. Plus, she rocks polos with shorts with bright tights, leg warmers, and heels. Awesome French pop.

I know why he lied to me

Better late than never. So I first heard about Liz McGrath when I read about her in the newest issue of Swindle. She's so rad and beyond inspiring to me. She does everything and she's great at it. I even love her band Miss Derringer. All my life, people have told me not to be a Jill of all trades, master of none. And I used to understand and try to focus on one thing. That is why I chose fashion design and just went that route. Even if I had dreams of going to art school to try everything (sculptures, illustration, animation, fashion). But yesterday, when someone said that to me again, I realized, I don't know what the f**** that means anymore. I can't help it if I want to do everything. But I think fear is the only thing holding me back. Many times, I sit there and think, I'm not that talented.
