Aftershave Ocean

I know it's been a while, but I really haven't been doing anything.  Except eating, I guess, judging by the pictures I'm going to post below.  But, don't worry, I've been working out!  Here's my May recap:

Beach day with my lovely friend.  We ate pizza and laid out in the sun.

On our way back, we stopped by Sprinkles and tried their ice cream.  Ridiculously yummy.

New necklace from Obey.  Love the packaging.

I was organizing the closet and found this old denim jacket I put patches on years ago.

Went to a Dodger vs Cardinals game for Memorial Day Weekend.

Dodgers Stadium
Soft serve ice cream, yay!  (We also had Dodger Dogs, garlic fries, and popcorn.)

Happy hour at Biergarten in L.A.  A Korean-German fusion concept with lots of German beer.  Good service, good food.

Ate so much shrimp at Bubba Gump in Santa Monica for Mother's Day weekend.

Please sway with me. I take comfort in what used to be

We decided to do something fun before this summer is over so we decided to spend our day at Disney's California Adventure.  I had never been here before.  Of course, I grew up in LA so there were countless visits to Disneyland when I was a kid.  Then about two years ago, I went back to Disneyland for the first time in over ten years.  Honestly, I didn't understand the appeal of California Adventure since I am from California.  I didn't get it.  But now that I'm older, I'm less of a snob, maybe.  We decided to give it a try at least once.  So a beautiful day in August.  This was before the crazy heat wave, thankfully.  I had an awesome time and have great memories now.  It was such a perfect day.  Except for the part where I wanted to be a good sport and ride the swinging gondola on the ferris wheel.  (I'm scared of heights, so I hate ferris wheels, but I'm good at toughing it up from time to time.) However, I didn't know how bad the swinging motion would be.  When I stood in line, I saw someone throwing up.  When I was riding the wheel, I got so motion sick.  I was pretty upset.  We headed over to get some lunch and a coke would help me feel better.  We got a fast pass for the roller coaster.  So after we ate, we breezed on through the line and got lucky front seats.  This roller coaster is so fast, it's ridiculous!  I screamed until I couldn't scream anymore and then it ended.  The lady at the photograph store said I looked like I passed out.  Cars Land is super cute, especially the Cone Motel food stands.  We went to the Starbucks in the park.  Being in such a crowded place, I saw many girls wearing clothes that I designed.  It was a great feeling.  Hollywood Tower Hotel was crazy.  How many times does that thing drop?  And the set up and darkness made it even creepier.  We watched the World of Color water show.  It was a beautiful perfect summer day.  I loved it.  I actually can't wait to go back!  Overall, the place is so cute and well designed.

Bottega Louie Dinner

I love this place!  Their mushroom pizza is really good.  So are the portabello fries.  And their desserts! I love their macaron creme brulee.  Gonna just be all repetitive and say I love this place.

I had the most amazing Labor Day weekend.  Saturday, we got to the beach early and rented bikes.  I rode a pretty green Schwinn bike.  Perry's has upgraded all their rental bikes to Scwhinns.  It was overcast and cool.  We rode south, then came back and ate yogurt parfaits that we packed.  After our snacks and coffee, we headed to the water.  The sun started to peer through and the clouds started to burn off.  We weren't wearing bathing suits so we only wet our feet and watched the waves.  After, we made our way to the pier where we got free water bottles, beach balls, and frisbees from the "Big Bang Theory" promo team.  We rode the ferris wheel, which I didn't enjoy because I have a fear of heights but someone made me get on it anyway.  Next, we ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp!  I've lived in LA all my life, and I just never went in there to eat.  For seafood, we grew up going to the seafood marketplace at the Redondo Beach pier.  That's still the best.  I enjoy straight up seafood, just plain steamed.  But since we were in Santa Monica, we decided to finally try Bubba Gump.  It was really good and fun!  I got a light up cup and all.  And you know, Forrest Gump is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.  I reference it a lot anyways.  It was such a lovely day.  Can't believe it's already September!
