I will turn your tide
Wednesday January 14, 2009 @ Troubadour
I finally got to see Glasvegas! Over a year and a half ago, my sister first heard "Daddy's Gone" on the (sadly) now defunct Indie 103.1's Passport Approved show. We all loved it immediately. Unsurprisingly, their other songs were equally good. It's been great to discover their music early on and see them grow tremendously. They are huge in Europe. They finally came to play a show in Los Angeles after their US album release weeks ago. Not to mention, the show sold out months in advance. Carl Barat (The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things) was the special guest. He just came out with an electric guitar and sang a most beautiful set. Glasvegas opened with "Flowers and Football Tops", another personal tear jerker. Their set was great. Highlight was seeing Rick Rubin checking out the band. Only complaint of the night would be that there were so many photographers in the crowd, there was not enough dancing.

James joined Carl on stage to sing "Burma" (swoon~)
