You'll never see me in the deep end if I ain't got nothing to gain
Where do I even begin?! First off, the Hives were supposed to play two nights at the Mayan in LA. I had bought tickets to both shows the day they went on sale of course, months in advance, of course, because you all know how much I love them. I was bummed that they cancelled Wednesday's show. But Thursday's show did not disappoint. Vigilante looked much better and it was probably the BEST Hives show I've been to YET! They opened with "Hey Little World" and I just about fainted when they came walkin out in white suits! Honestly, when they came out with the Black&White album and had their suits, I fantasized how cool it would be if they wore white suits (vice versa trim). I guess that's my design brain that is always thinking. And when they DID walk out, I was like, omg, my dream came true! They played a lot from "Black&White" and played most of my other older favorites. This was their last show for the tour and now I just feel so sad, but I cannot wait for their next album. Or maybe I can go visit them in Sweden. After every Hives show, it's always that same feeling of "omg, they are the best LIVE band ever!" Pure rock and roll night! I LOVE!!!
The Eagles of Death Metal opened for the Hives. What a lineup, right? The Williowz opened the night.
I took more than 200 pictures this night. Yes, I was THAT close. Even more reason to keep snapping. But don't worry, taking pictures never get in the way of dancing. Not sure if you remember my post-Hives show blog entry from last November, but I literally become like possessed when the Hives are on. Dancing is just an involuntary reaction.
Definitely, easily, one of my favorite bands of all time. *sigh* Come back soon!
