I can't stand I'm just no good for you

I've always loved stripes. The other day, I was thinking about my obsession with vertical striped blazers and pants. In junior high, I bought a pair of vertical striped pants from Contempo Casuals. Does anyone remember that store? So, nineties. But it was a slight bell shape, they were white jeans with painted distressed looking green and brown tone stripes. Yes, I actually wore them. Next, I bought a pair of vertical striped pants from Banana Republic when I was in my late teens. It was dark denim with maroon and white stripes. It was very sixties rock and roll. I loved them. I still have them, but I no longer fit into them. How embarrassing to admit so. Then, Trish Goff, one of my favorite models from the nineties, walked down the Balenciaga runway for Fall 2006 wearing these bold black and white vertical striped pants. Obviously, I cannot afford anything Balenciaga. But soon, to my delight, a lot of knock-offs were inspired. It took me a while, but I finally found less bold stripes, but totally flattering skinny pants at H&M. I bought it in two colorways: grey & black, cobalt blue & black. Vertical striped pants are a staple in my wardrobe. It's not trendy, it's just stylish. Then, it got me to thinking, maybe it all happened when I fell in love with Ringo when I was a kid, and when I watched Yellow Submarine when I was about ten or eleven. Pop art, Ringo, The Beatles music, and vertical stripes equals love love love.

Happy Thanksgiving!
