I can hardly believe that today is Christmas Eve! I had a crazy weekend getting up early to beat the crowds, lots of gift wrapping, and all that fun stuff. Saturday night was our company Holiday party! This year, it was at the Live! On Sunset store, formerly the old Sunset Tower Records. I was really depressed that they closed such a legendary store. Little did I know that a few years later, the owners of the company I work for would open up a concept store at that same space. At the counters, you can see they did manage to pay some homage to it, though. The party was really nice. At the back, we had the Buddha Bar, and food from New Moon. Max Azria is a friend of the big boss so he came to the party as well. Not to mention a lot of us used to work for him. All in all, it was lots of fun. I wanted to wear a Balmain knockoff Zara dress, but I really can't afford to buy a new party dress I'd wear once, so I worked with what I had and went for the Gucci Fall 08 meets YSL Fall 08 look. I'm obsessed with Frida Giannini's collections. It's right up my alley. More so than Tom Ford's. The crazy thing is you probably could've watched the party live streaming on the website. Hmm... Did not tell you this for obvious reasons.
looking fabulous, you guys!

This past Saturday, I went to the Unique LA shopping event at the California Market Center, featuring all local indie artists and designers. Two of my friends had booths there so we paid them a visit. It was better than I expected, and obviously, you can see by the number of pics I took, that I was really inspired. I love crafty, artsy people. So refreshing. I need to get back to making things, too. Always exhausted from work. Anyways, I got my start in the fashion industry back when I just turned 18 years old, working as a showroom intern at the CMC! I continued to work there during busy seasons for several years throughout college. I used to always take the bus home. I steamed countless racks of clothes, and did all that glamorous intern stuff. I like the Mart a lot. Showrooms are so much prettier than design offices. But I could never go into sales, it was good to learn that side of the business, though. You need to understand the whole picture in this industry.

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep for hours (as usual). But it was pleasant to hear the rain falling outside. It continued to rain on my way to work. Saturday I went to Unique LA, pics and recap coming soon. Sunday, I woke up super early to beat the crowds and just get my Christmas shopping done. The weather was gorgeous this weekend. Windy, chilly, crisp, and sunny. Finally feels like Christmas. In other news, I've been in a funk lately, so to keep my mind off things, I re-read The Catcher in the Rye. I read it eons ago but I was too young. When I read it last week, I felt a total connection with it. If you want to get an idea of what type of person I am, I'd suggest you read that book because I am totally Holden Caulfield and my sister agrees. I really am. I loved that book. Absolutely loved it. Can't describe it in words, you'd have to read it to know why it's so special, every little detail of it. It killed me. Anyways, since it's raining and all, here is a "rainy day" playlist. Btw, I hate it when stupid radio stations play "I can see clearly now the rain is gone.." after it stops raining. It's so corny. I hate that, but they always do it.

Saturday was a crazy busy day for me. I woke up super early to start running errands. I took a power nap in the afternoon, then went crazy trying to decide what to wear. Last night I went to the grand opening party for Space15Twenty, the new concept store project by Urban Outfitters right in the middle of Hollywood on Cahuenga. I met up with my good friend/coworker/designer, and went in together. We share a love for Agyness Deyn, Pugh, Warhol, and Edie. I don't want to gush about my friend here, but my two coworkers make my worklife so much more fun. We laugh like kids. Overall, it was awesome. Took lots of pictures for you guys. The space is huge, and has different stores including Free People, Urban Outfitters, a vintage store, a bookstore, a cafe, etc. You can find out more about it here: http://www.space15twenty.com. When the party ended, it started sprinkling ever so slightly walking to the parking lot. On my drive home, Bad Brains were playing on the radio, no traffic on the freeway, the cool night air, it was perfect.
